Position Overview:

The Director of Marketing, based in our SoHo office, will develop and execute a marketing strategy that leads to revenue growth focused on influencing the advertising agency and senior marketing decision maker communities. The work will include a mix of Strategic thinking, Event execution and PR/thought leadership in addition to working closely with our external PR team. This person is an early adopter, with their eye on what is current and stands out both in events and the technology space. This role reports to the VP of Strategy and works closely with several teams internally to execute the plan.

This role will build a marketing plan, get buy in from management and then execute the plan using traditional methods of marketing and advertising like events, paid media, content marketing and public relations as well as developing unique methods for reaching the target customer. The right candidate has experience across these multiple disciplines, is creative but revenue focused, obsessed with organization, has an understanding of the target customer groups and enjoys building great experiences for customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan focused on target customer segments
  • Manage a marketing budget focused on paid advertising, events, PR and premiums
  • Work across various groups (Sales, Executive Team, PR) to assess needs, incorporate feedback and share results
  • Work across various groups to help formulate overall positioning, thought leadership concepts, research initiatives and other key messaging; execute on a plan to promote and distribute those messages in the most revenue focused ways
  • Work closely with our external PR firm to execute on PR initiatives and tie closely with Marketing Messages
  • Travel required up to 40% of the time (domestic) and occasional attendance at evening events

Must Haves:

  • 7+ years Trade Marketing focused in the Advertising, Publisher, Ad Tech or Agency space, focused on messaging to Agency and direct Marketing (Clients)
  • Efficient and effective communication skills with the Ability to distill a message down to a simple and effective format; confidence and knowledge to see where the industry is going in 6 months and educate the market on that position
  • Focus on managing marketing efforts through KPI’s and delivering on revenue focused goals
  • Ability to work across internal organizations to accomplish goals and align on team needs
  • Organized multitasker with an obsession for grammar and copywriting
